Homecoming for Court Bradbury, July 17th, 2009

It was a very good weekend in Northern California . The 2008-2009 Grand Chef de Gare Court Bradbury was given a 'Homecoming' hosted by American Legion Post 521, Rio Linda. I thought there was a nice turnout and that Bob Velasquez provided a great raffle, though Bob Mattson did seem to me to look as though he were wondering just what he had won. I'm sure Bob figured it out, or simply gave it to his wife.

Court seem to enjoy the event, and took time to thank all of those involved.

Grand Promenade/Installation of Officers 18 July 2009

The grand Promenade was held at the Old Officers Club at McClellan Park . There was a nice turnout to see a new slate of officers be installed, to be led by the new Grand Chef de Gare, for 2009-2010, Bill Reed. Special awards were presented by Carl Ashser to the Policeman of the Year, the hero of the Year, and to the Voyageur of the Year. Bob Mattson seemed surprised to be named Voyageur of the Year, though it struck me as quite fitting. Congratulations Bob.

The Grand Promenade strikes me as a great way to end one year and bring in a new one. If you missed it, plan to attend next year.
